Artist Statement

When first seeing the prompt for this project I was a bit scared because I have never used Photoshop or Illustrator before. I was very open minded to this whole project and was trying to think out of the box with who or what my main character would be. I ended up picking an alien and putting him in an interesting space that I like and also near objects I am scared of or enjoy. I really tried to express my emotions through the colors and places the alien was in. I also tried to add objects and food in the background to try to explain who I am deep down. When doing my art my main goal is to make my art speak for itself. I want people to look at it and either know what's going on or make it a little puzzle that they can solve which would lead them to know a bit more about me and my style. I really think that this project brought out a lot of my creative side, especially using photoshop. Photoshop is a great tool for me to layer things on top of each other and change the size, color, saturation, transparency and fill of objects. When using all these tools in both apps I really learned how useful and significant this was to counting my art career. Also a little fun fact is that I was looking for an internship for this summer and i couldn't apply for the internship ship until I had practice with photoshop and illustrator. Lucky now I can apply for this upcoming summer!!
